Position Details

JOB POSTING FOR INTERMEDIATE IT AND COMPUTER SUPPORT 

CoreData Incorporated is an expanding Calgary based company and is seeking a computer support person able to handle all types of IT, computer, and network related support.

5 years or more of relevant experience and good communications skills are required.  We will show preference to candidates with a post-secondary degree.

This position will be placed at our office and nearby client offices and the applicant will be responsible for leading IT tasks, for assisting other personnel, and working with others on various support projects. The position will include design, troubleshooting, IP and VPN networking, and software installation.  Support for our clients will be via site visit, over the phone and via remote desktop connection as needed.

We support several clients' full IT needs, utilizing a Microsoft environment with some Linux servers and applications.  We also develop Windows and Web based applications using C#, XML and JavaScript, utilizing Microsoft's .NET platform.  Experience with these languages and application development using a database and GUI is an asset. Communication and writing skills, as well as Java or Linux experience are assets.

Strong computer support skills are definitely required.

Position Details:
The selected candidate will work on developing and programming software projects. The projects range through small web applications, database applications and automation.

Requirements:
-Excellent programming development skill required
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills
-Excellent communication skills – you must be able to work with client deployments.
-Organizational skills – you must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
-Be self motivated and able to work independently on project and as well as in a team environment
-Capable of leading small technical teams of one or two additional programmers

Qualifications:
-Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
-Software development experience of at least 5 years
-Experience writing functional and design specifications
-Background in using control systems hardware, as well as programming
-Preference for candidates with a Masters Degree
